Update on the Childs Condition & Thank You

 UPDATE:

I just wanted to express my gratitude for your concerns over the child's incident from my last post. Its not a good situation as they don't believe their child shall ever walk again. The swelling around the brain finally subsided. But still no feeling in the extremities. Its Still Early Though

Their child was flown to the University of Utah Spinal Cord Injury Program hospital were they specialize in spinal cord injuries and severe brain trauma cases. Apparently they work wonders with professional extreme athletes that have crushed theirs bodies at such young delicate ages. Fingers crossed that we see some improvement over the next few weeks. I Tried My Best

For those that asked, keep reading. Not interested, check out the drop in gas prices. So a group of kids were playing four square in the driveway. Four were playing and two were waiting their turns. The ball got away from them and the one darted out BETWEEN two parked cars. The driver never saw the child and not only hit but ran over the child with the front passenger tire. The drive was NOT intoxicated, NOT speeding, and obviously stopped. A True Accident

RADIO SHOW:

This was a short notice sub opportunity and I took it. I covered the Saturday Night Showcase and aired an upbeat 80's New Wave show. Again, the phone calls were amazing and the text from my friends were well received. I featured the band Primus and their rendition of Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory Album. I also pulled a number of Soundtrack LP's from the library. Totally Tripendicular

GOALS:

  1. Remain Present
  2. Remember Names
  3. Put My Best Foot Forward
  4. Bliss Out

Stay Hydrated,
Cheers

  1. Hello, it is always great to see the gas prices coming down. I feel so sorry for the child and the parents, I hope there is some improvement. Accidents happen, just a shame they have to be devastating. Your goals are wonderful, inspiring..Wishing you a happy day!

  2. The poor kid, but sounds like s/he is in the best possible environment for care. Doing our best is all we can do. As to your list, I really have to remember faces. as well as names. We were in the grocery line in front of a former neighbor. I had no clue who he was. Himself remembered. In my defense, I only saw this guy a couple of times.

  4. Such a horrid thing for the child, the parents, and the driver. I really wish for a positive outcome.
I was spinning some of my favorite LP's this week..even a couple CD's Im old school when it comes to music. Gas went to $1.97 last week then popped back up to $2.12 this week...then it went to $2.07 at a couple spots around town today. We don't have as much tax on gas here so it's always a little lower than average...now if FOOD would come down!!

  5. Thanks for the explanation. I had a similar situation where a child ran out between parked cars in front of me. While I avoided hitting him, it chills your heart.

  6. And for those complaining about the nanny state, us being over regulated and low speed limits, the speed limit for that road through a park had just been lowered from 60 km/h to 40 km/h, say 35 mph to 25 mph. Had I been travelling at 60 I am sure I would have hit him.

  7. That poor driver. He'll/She'll never be able to get past the accident. Ugh. I hope the child recovers feeling in their lower extremities. It's pretty amazing, the things that can be done at a good rehabilitation hospital!

Blissing out sounds pretty good to me right now. Good goal.

  11. Oh no that really doesn't sound good Padre but we must stay positive and hope for a miracle. I feel sorry for the driver of the car too, he must be having nightmares! Am listening to your show as I write the blog, am enjoying but the adverts are too long 😉

  15. I am at a loss for words about that child's situation. You are a good friend to them, and I hope that things will somehow turn around. It hits close to home as I am not even supposed to ride a bike due to spinal issues. Every time I crash, I wiggle my toes and fingers - the fear is always there. I really hope that such a youngster can beat the odds.
