Blowing in the Wind

We Walked The Loneliest Mile      We Smiled Without Any Style      We Kissed Altogether Wrong    No Intention    We Lied About Each Other's Drinks   We Lived Without Each Other Thinking    What Anyone Would Do    Without Me And You    It Is Like I Told You     Only The Lonely Can Play

CYCLING:

Back on the 1994 GT Ricochet and intensively relishing these rowdy miles under my knobby firm tires. With February's 13 to 16 degrees above average temps , why not ride. If I recall correctly , only wore pants once this month so far as of this 18th day of February. Yikes

But like I say , my sit bones are enjoying the time on the saddle again. Meaning , more than just pedaling along but beyond exceeding any expectations pre-ride. Maybe those mundane commuter miles last year was a good thing because I actually have interest in longer rides again this year. This is an unmatched feeling because I was totally unmotivated last Summer. Now , Sunday mornings perk my excitement once again. One hour as far as I can , u-turn , an hour back. Righteous

DRIVING:

Still rolling around the valley with 15 year olds and surprisingly enough I am still fascinated with the gig. These kids are really solid kids. They arrive with around 50 hours behind the wheel and obviously understand the basic concept of operating a vehicle. My role and what I have taken upon myself is helping them understand signage , speak in real world situations , calculate their surroundings , and educate them on proper round about etiquette. Blinkers

What I was completely unaware of , nor had I even considered this because I was born in the nineteen hundreds , these kids have "websites" where they have been giving "feedback" for other kids that are about to start the program. Apparently my reviews are over the top and these kids across the board are asking their parents to request me. I have NOT read these reports for myself. I was driving with a kid when they divulged this information after asking me if I remember driving with his buddy. Tripped Me Out

MUSIC:

After announcing how I wouldn't be stepping foot inside the Mesa Theater in my last post , hypocrite 101 I am. One field trip later , Valentines evening offered up an evening with Magoo. Kalinderrrrrrrs hosting pregame , our tribe walked to the venue under New Moon conditions. Only our posey arrived in full costume force for the pure entertainment factor. Dynamite

Our names were on the guest list , our outfits stole the show , and we owned our section of the dance floor. Magoo flat out gets after it !! They are listed , or defined as , a bluegrass band. But they are truly an electrifying jam band for sure. They announced early on in the show that they had decided to play all originals. Love That

Not only did they perform two full sets for us but they clearly like each other , walked about the stage vs standing like statues , and three of the four of them sing exceptionally well. My only knock , they wore the same clothes that were on the floor from the previous day. Other than that , I would see them again without a doubt. Extremely Talent Group

The other "nice" touch was Denton on stand up bass handed over a beautiful Bouquet of flowers to Kalinderrrrrrrrs and after the show they all came out to the march table to meet and greet anyone and everyone. Well Done

As for me , I might have landed on a sweet new project. Fingers Crossed !! I answered a Craigslist ad with the title reading , Horns are great and keyboards are welcomed. I knew I had to reply. My thought going in was this. Thanx to YouTube , I began teaching myself how to play the piano in the early A$$ mornings before work. So maybe I would be able to slide in as a newbie piano player. But I just had to see who was looking for horns. When I arrived to the audition , Alfredo greeted me with a handshake and he plays drums. A multiplayer Miguel ( who actually placed the ad ) pops in a little late but super friendly. So he jumps on the electric piano and the three of us just started jamming like old friends do with me holding down the low end with Miguel's Bass that he let me barrow. We were randomly in the middle of Santana's Maria Maria when a white gal around my age walks into the club and starts happily dancing away. Without knowing who she is , she casually walks by me with a smile and begins singing away on the mic. So our "project" is two super cool Hispanics , a fluently Spanish speaking lady , and me. I am so digging this new genre of tunes and have always loved hearing/playing on KAFM those classic Putumayo World CD's. And a bonus , our singer paints the story behind these songs which allows me to play a style of notes to merry that vibe. This is so radically different from the usual Rock & Roll Cover Tunes that I am familiar playing along to. Phuc Yes

We might have a potential gig during the Chavez Annual Car Show near the end of March. The three of them perform these songs above and I really didn't sound all that bad on bass. Not saying that these Spanish songs are easy cheesy but a majority of them are just two simple chords. Once we slowed down Billy Jean , we sounded most excellent. I was surprised by how well we played both Janis Joplin tunes. We practiced the Blondie tune a few times and I am just OK as they totally rocked it. I am really excited about this and I hope that we find the chemistry between us for growing throughout this Summer of 2026. Let's Bond Amigos

Bring Your Dancing Shoes And Apply Sunscreen ,

Cheers
