Week III
Lifting:
Feeling much better about handling weights and concentrating on range of motion. After missing about two weeks before my Week I training, I remembered to drop a few pounds off each exercise and focus on ROM. Still feeling strong and in control but defiantly wouldn't be able to lift the same amount of weight as I was a month ago. Age can do that BUT at least I remembered that I am NOT 21 anymore.
The Commuter Bike and I made it to the gym 3 times this week, once without the bike, & once to the airport for a swim. Made a trip over to East OM while dog sitting for a few days. Love riding that stretch towards the Grand Mesa.
Rode the new CX bike to the radio station!! And the brakes are full on Euro style.
Me and The Boy Dog are back on two-a-day walks. One long walk and one on the No Excuse Loop. Moving the hips and trying to roll through the heal/toe to stretch all those little stabilizing muscles. Majority of the walking is quick tempo and I often remind myself to stand taller.
Push Ups, Core Ball Work, & Morning Yoga.
Clients:
Excellent weekend of work in the office. Picked up my youngest client as he is a 1st grader and suffers from migraine headaches. We worked on balancing his pelvis, worked through his thoracic cavity, neck, and added a balance between his spleen, liver, and kidneys. I stayed away from a cranial sacral alinement as I have found that kids with a specific case will be so caught up in "it" that Ortho may or may not work. By allowing him to feel comfort during the 1st session we should be able to make progress on our future sessions.
Worked on a women that had a "neck" problem but what I noticed was that see was in full on flight or fight mode. The more she discharged from her mouth the more clues I was given. Worked with her psoas and vegas nerve which was the trick for that session. I did address her neck as well. We had an awesome session.
Worked on another woman with hand problems. Simple hand, forearm, elbow releases, and then we experienced a huge release in her shoulder. We both looked at each other and gave that WoW look but never spoke a word. Again, AWESOME
Goals:
More time in the pool
More anterior painting
More Cycling
More Greens
More Super Smoothies
More Time With The Boy Dog
AND THIS VIDEO LINK MUST BE WATCH IN FULL SCREEN. This video was shot today from Grand Junction Colorado. The GoPro is facing North. The storm rolls in from the East. Stalls out and rolls out back towards the East. 2 min video that was shot over 3 hours. I am pretty stoked about it and THANX 4 WATCHING!!!

Week II
I have blogged about working three jobs while training for the Lead King 25K. Well, this is one of those jobs. Its an early 1960's Heidelberg Cylinder Press that has been converted into a die cutter monster. So I set up the GoPro and shot still photos for 3hrs at 5 second shots.
Training: Hit the gym three times this week and a swim day as well. Cycle Cross Race yesterday. Loaded up on stretching and Sun Salutations to open the hips and calm the lower back.
Radio Show: This Tuesday, 10th on Nov from 4pm - 6:30pm Mt Time Zone, I will be hosting Bluegrass and Beyond. Way fired up about this show because Veta has a huge following and I can't tell you the last time she had to miss a show. I pretty much listen to KAFM all day on Tuesdays when I can. And anther show on Thursday the 12th at 6:30pm. Both show will be live at www dot kafmradio dot org

Week I
Watercolor Paints!! Foundation for later highlights. |
Showing Off My Cheese Buttons From Years Back |
Added The Bubba J Teeth & Primed Green Flair |
Red Lip Gloss on the Axe |
A night of bike riding in-sued, enjoying the moment, and remaining in character ALL night. I only dropped on-lines in reference to " go pick up a spare " or " not bad for the 9th frame " and I targeted all the big hitters of Zombies that I recognized throughout the night BUT nobody knew that it was me. It was so much fun!!! A few couples would kinda smile but nobody engaged and just let their own Zombie Side cut loose.
After we were there, I MEAN CENTER OF THE DANCE FLOOR, for about 3 hours into the prom I could tell when the word was out of who we were. Everyone flooded us with " NO WAY" or " Thats REALL You " and " OMG " and this has went on all weekend long. Just today, while walking the Boy Dog, neighbor gal stopped her car and with the window down gave me her version of her husband and her's perspective. She even claimed that they didn't know until having breakfast with mutual friends on Sunday ( TWO DAYS LATER ) were informed of who that Bowling Dancer was. And the rumor is that there are SH*T Tons of photos out there of Dead Bowler Guy and Crazy Weird Axe Killer posted all over CrackBook.
TRAINING :
In The Early Stages Of Wk 1 Training For The HITs Half Ironman in May. Super pumped about this!! The body felt GR8( before Halloween Weekend ) anyway. I am on a base building during the new three weeks so I might only post weekly. I feel pretty strong about my base level of conditioning at this point. My legs are much stronger after all the gym work. Pretty interested in how the Mid Night Racer will feel under these sit bones. Its just that I learned a lot about my mind body connection over the past two Summers. We will see how it all plays out during the rest of this Fall Season.
RADIO ROOM EVENT :
I auditioned for a/2 part for the radio reading LIVE of Its A Wonderful Life. Truthfully, not sure how I feel about the reading but I really was motivated because its the first ever for our little station. And I wanted a voice in it. There are 36 parts and only about a dozen of us showed up to the audition night. So I do believe I will be reading a couple of parts. I openly spoke out that I am willing to read small parts and fill in were ever the director Patrick might have needs for. Again, Truth Be Told, I am not a strong enough reader or actor to try out AND THINK a lead part should be mine. Every Wed night starts readings, Patrick told us that the first few nights will be slow going, then the reads go quicker, and Dec 4th will be a live broadcasted show. Way Cool

Be The Best That You Can Be
Radio Show: Simply missed the goal by $85.oo!!! The show was a huge hit & I was highly entertained for sure. I was under the impression that our show goal was $500.oo but found out after the show that the goal had been bumped up to $900.oo in anticipation of my Theme Show. And thats OK because Jenny & I had a blast & laughed a lot. Thursday, folks were still talking about the show on air. Thats Way Cool!!
The station still needs to raise $12,000.oo to make the $40,000 dollar goal. Hint Hint
Not sure when my next show will be but I will post when I know.
UPDATE: Received a phone call that NOT ONE BUT TWO members of the community called in pledges after my show. These MEANS….. We went over our show goal by $110.oo!!! OUT OF MY SKIN RIGHT NOW!!!
Home Improvements: First Wave Of Before & After Photos & More To Come!!!
Training: My training has suffered a weeeee bit because of the photos from above. I have only been lifting twice a week & haven't swam in almost 2 full weeks. Still riding the commuter bike daily to the office but haven't jumped on the Midnight Racer yet this month. That SO Sucks!! BUT I am happy to blame that on the rain. HHHEEeeeee HHHHEEeeeeee
Still doing push ups in the AM with a little yoga mixed in. And I defiantly have felt the effects of all the brew during renovations. On a more positive note…… Hosted two french kids via www dot warm showers dot com. This couple started in Banff Canada and headed down the Great Divide Trail and then turned west at Steamboat Springs Colorado. They stayed with me for two nights and hope to make it to Columbia in the next year and a half. They had a chance to see our little Main St, a free movie at CMU, & ate an old fashion american BBQ on their last night. Fun Kids, Very Inspiring, & I wish them all the safest routes along the way.
Goals:
POOL!!
Gearing up for Zombie Prom
Road Riding
Did I mention swimming????
Cycle Cross Race Tonight
Heading Up Above Treeline w/the Boy Dog as snow fell last night

And October Brings???
Utah, Here We Come!! |
We listen to the well worded vision from the new ED & new PD & we spoke of goals to shoot for & what days what restaurants will be providing meals & that the Bloody Mary Sunday Show is back on. I enjoyed the meeting to say the least. Plus, many of these member I only see once in the Fall & once in the Spring. Catching up is always pretty satisfying.
Because of the past ED & PD running off loyal programmers, there were quite a few holes in the schedule. Our last PD worked by answering everything with " automated show " if someone couldn't cover their own show. In the past, we had to call three other programers AND THEN the PD would handle it. Hints; the empty time slots because of the automated system. So I now have a FUNd DRIVE SHOW!!! & I am way stoked!!!
I am looking at a few options regarding how to handle this. #1) Its going to be a theme show & I believe its going to be a golfing show. We will create an atmosphere of a golfing tournament & callers pledges will dictate the distance of a ball strike. We will call the phone operators CADDIES. Also had the idea of a memorial hole for folks to pledge for past pets, humans, & long ago programers. An LP Fairway where we play records along that hole. #2) I started writing up commercial that we are familiar with but replacing the items name with KAFM. Example: Are you having trouble sleeping?? Then you might need a new KAFM mattress to help count the sheep away. I have snow KAFM tires, skylights, laundry detergent, & computer help commercials by adding more KAFM Ram. The idea is simply to add tons of humor to commercials that drive us crazy & wacky side effects they may cause. Like KAFM hair products that grows hair all the way down your back & into your A$$ crack.
AND PLEASE COMMENT ANY & ALL IDEAS THAT STRIKE YOUR FANCY. Get it?? Strike Your?? #3) Buying some shirts from Kmart & having them printed with KAFM Golf Tournament 2015 or something a little more creative than that. I will let the screen printers have full range on this one. Oh, and the name of the show, Gravel Beach Open. Thats a reference to the classic Pebble Beach Tourney out in California. All the pledges will be based on 9 hole, 18 hole, or 36 hole prices rather than $35 bumper sticker, $65 hat or shirt, $120 level for Radio Room Tix, or $220 Solar Level.
The show will be October 21st at 3:30pm mountain time zone.
Training: Been busting out some "real" weights at the gym & I am pleased about what else is possible this month. Such as, example here, my warm up on the incline bench press has been 45lbs & then I go onto the rest of my chest/legs routine. Yesterday, the 45lbs wasn't really a WU per se. Another example was squats w/just the bar for 15 reps after every exercise during my back/bi day. And then there are days when I do drop a little weight & add more reps. Example??? Using 15lb dumbbells for curls while balancing on a bosu ball. This clearly works my stabilizing muscles & my diaphragm plays a big role as well.
So this past week was another "mix it up" style of working out….
MON- Chest/Legs/Tri
TUES- Shoulders/Bi
WED- Off/Volunteer Cleaning For Membership Trade
Thurs- Back/Squats/Bi/Legs
FRI- Chest/ Shoulders/Tri
This Saturday moving boxes
Sunday Cycle Cross Race #2
All the photos are from Shadow Boys Sunday adventure on the boarder of Utah/Colorado. The Boy Dog & I are still on the No TV Football Sunday. We drove up to Glade Park but hunters showed their evidence everywhere. So the Boy Dog & I kept on driving until we hit the dirt road near Utah. So Damn Peaceful When You Feel Like Your Alone On The Planet. Or A Space Alien
Clients: Ortho-Bionomy still blows me away. Had a client come in & was really beating herself up about how her ankle are killing her all the time. So I worked with her hips, low back, shoulders, & neck. Never touched her knees or ankles. After the 45min session, she was walking tall again. Then it hit her like a ton of bricks. "You didn't work on my legs??" She confusingly reports. I gave her a quick muscle train definition & explained how I was looking for balance/imbalances. I could only give her theories of what I was hoping to achieve. Like maybe her pelvis was tiled posterior/anterior which was causing her feet to overwork for satiability. Basically, how everything upstream affects downstream flow. Wish I had a video tape of her walking down the hallway in pure joy & relief.
Another client, from my massage days, walks in & asked if I would do that O-Thing on his lower back. He even says," Next time we can do a massage but not now." I so love that!!! Love that reassurance of what I am doing. That despite me, Ortho totally works!!!
Counseling: Had an interesting day of counseling a few folks. One guy was sharing about his 52nd wedding anniversary & he was explaining how they really do celebrate anymore. He shared "party" from their 50th & how they treat everyday as a blessing. Thats great & all but I felt compelled to drop a few hints. My advices were to take the wife to a restaurant that you haven't been to & whip out a note that highlights of all the little/unnoticed chores that she does. Hope he takes me up on that.
Another buddy is going through some SH*T & just needed an ear to chew on. Its one of those times when you just know that he really isn't looking for advice & is almost at a state of processing. So I didn't really interject much. I did my best to just keep him in the moment & stay with the facts. He would start to say things like this weekend & I would bring him back to the task of today. Reminding him that he can't control a future conversation so stay here with me & I quickly reminded him of…..
Then, another friend, well, she just needed a hug. So I gave her a hug & told her that she is needed. Her daughter needs her, her classes need her, & the her future endeavors will be memorable because of her accomplishments along her journey. Again, She Just Needed A Hug.

Back On Line, No CrackBooking
Studies show that 80 percent of the population suffers from depression, and the other 20 percent of you cause it.
The video card in my MacBook decided that it was time to call it quits. So a good friend of mine, Belize, took care of my computer needs by replaced the card, installed a new super DVD burner, & we talked about a new powerful iMac that he has. I am thinking about this new machine & only using it OFF-Line. You know, for GoPro Editing, Biz Cards, Mixing Music, etc. Basically, I am talking about my dream world that I often fall back into.
Something rather interesting is that all of my log-in's are all logged-outs & I don't have a clue as to what my CrackBook Password was. I joined CrackBook in about 2005 because of my friend JK. One day he was all fired up because his old childhood friend was going to be in Boulder Colorado at the same time as him & they found this out together on CrackBook. So I signed up looking for two of my old buddies, Tim S & Chris E, and I became hooked because of one simple link. Back then, a useful tab under your profile photo named PHOTOS. You used to be able to click on that "tab" & ONLY the photos from that day were pulled up. It Was Awesome!! Nothing but photos!! No ads, no political crap, no links to other news feeds. Just Daily Photos. Ah, Back In The Day…….
So I am torn here. I have no interest in joining CrackBook BUT I have used it for my Biz. So do I log back in, do I create a new CrackBook Biz page, do I blow it all off, what to do???? But it has been awesome to be 7 days clean from the CrackBooking World.
CLIENTS: I have been meeting up with some of the most creative clients lately. Started working with an artist that brought me in a piece & WoW what a creative side. Ortho has brought in innovative thinkers. Folks that want to share stories of excitement. Another difference, right or wrong, between massage & Ortho has been that massage clients would walk in and "dump" out pains or family problems or the blues in general. Ortho clients walk in & share stories of goodness & then oh by the way, that knee has been bothering me now that your working with it.
I can see both sides here & I am not passing judgment & there are many reasons all these different scenarios carry merit. Its just been an observation that I have shared with my mentors & they smiled & agreed that Ortho has its hidden benefits.
Another new client came in as they are about to have a knee replacement. I explained how Ortho works with the bone itself to help merry the new metals that are about to come in. I always want to be clear in the fact that I CAN NOT CURE YOUR KNEE but that I can help facilitate a quicker healing process, help your leg communicate as to what the hell just happen to my knee, & how Ortho will bring that leg back on line quicker than doing just PT, Massage, etc. This client displayed a HUGE smile. Obviously I asked, " What Gives?" He told me that I was the first person that didn't say things like " You Should " or " You know what" and that I gave him options. You have no idea how I felt hearing that!!!
Another client that I have been seeing for awhile now walked into the office & was beaming with an unusual glow. My officemate even noticed & later asked me about it. That client told me they ran a 5K last weekend. Sure it was only a 47 min finishing time but I reminded them that they were OUTSIDE & moving pain-free. We had other discussions about training, pacing, & their own goals but what I really focused on here was that they were moving along in this moment in time. I reassured them that it was ALL them & not me. That is was Ortho & them & not me. That they had re-educated their own body & they deserve the credit. They began to paint a new picture of 10K's & so on & thats when I said," Slow Down Turbo!!" They smiled & I explained that I would build a month to month training program for simple 5K's & we will go from there. Lets just work on the foundation of good habits & go from there. Hot Damn
TRAINING: My body feels GR8 & totally alive!!! This winter will be stellar going into it injury-free!! I am actually feeling bubbly about the Half Ironman in May 2016 because my body feels that good right now.
Been making huge strides at the gym again. A few weeks ago I was reflecting on my lifting numbers from Jan 2015 while I was adding more weight to my excises as we are nearing the end of September. The whole month of September, 4/5 days a week, I changed up my routine. Added arms to a leg day or back and triceps rather than back/bi. Dropped weight and added more reps during a chest/back day and really worked over the cardiovascular system. Basically, mixing it up and having fun.
From the video above, no GPS, the Boy Dog & I just hiked. We would clip along, then I would film, we cruised along, & only stopped when we came in contact w/other hikers or bikers on our return trip. The trail was quite, full of color STILL, wide open, & totally refreshing. I mentioned no GPS because it was freeing not to push that min per mile pace or become distracted because I wasn't below a 10min mile pace. That time will come & have its place. I was stoked to be present, hiking w/the Boy Dog, & just living IN the dream.
Again, I Feel Gr8!!!!
CAMPING: Heading south this weekend for a little over night camp trip. Just a short get-a-way of sorts. I haven't watched any Sunday football games this season, so far. I have gone up to the Dudes place for the two Thursday night games but nothing on Sundays. Week 1 in the NFL was during my 1st Cycle Cross Race of the season and Week 2 was up on the Grand Mesa. HINTS….. The Video From Above!!! So this weekend will be no different as I am escaping the stranglehold from the NFL again. The weather has been perfect out here on the Western Slope so I may pass on a time lapse as the clouds have been replaced by Colorado Blue Bird Sky's.
GOALS:
Continue to change it up at the gym.
As our weather holds up, get out & about on Sundays.
Add mileage on the Midnight Racer.
Pick up the pace in the pool & add another day just for the pool.
Set up the stereo at the OM house.
Enjoy more time with Shadow Boy.
Target new videos with clients doing something active.
Hit up Mad Margret's soon for new Zombie make up for Zombie Prom 2016.
Put an SD plan in place.
Sun Salutations In The AM, Slow & Controlled

Happy Teeth… Warm Showers
Live is good and my teeth are happy. Working as an Ortho-Bionomist, smiling a lot, I rely on my teeth being clean and healthy. So today was my day for a routine cleaning!! It was also a day for signing up on warms hoers.com ( classic auto correct ) thats warm showers.com after hearing some stories from the other nights dinner/get together. So that should be way cool!!
Shadow Boy Cooling Down The Paws!! This photo is from a sweet area below Imogene Pass between Ouray and Telluride. The water is unreal clear and cold. The rock formations scream exploration. And I have never seen wildflowers this late in September!!
Totally blown away by all the moisture from this area and by far the wettest I have ever seen it. You can literally lift a rock and the soil underneath is damp and cool. So Shadow Boy dug often to create his own bedding during snack/story time.
I really concentrated on hip movement, powering with major muscle groups, and soaking in the pure joy from what the Boy Dog was bathing in. He was on top of the world!! Damn, he IS the best dog!!
Love this hole!! I giggle like a grade schooler when even I roll through this sucker. And the little old mining town of Tommy Boy always draw out some emotions for me. The wild thoughts of how hard life was back then but the fact that they didn't know any better so maybe it wasn't that hard. Or of a worker that falls and breaks a hip. Could you imagine busting up yourself in the middle of nowhere and now living like that for the rest of your life??? Or finishing a days work and having that view w/a bottle of whiskey and a few close friends???
Camp site for two nights!! Yes, chilly. Yes, rocky. YES, Must See For Yourself. These photos are from just below Opher Pass and its amazingly quite there. Just hanging out, catching up on my book, and wondering whats that smell that just perked curiosity in the Boy Dog's wet nose.
And if this doesn't inspire you, check out this blog. Its a friend of mine that seeks the best possible outcome in everything he does. He just busted out a PR 10K and writes with passion and enthusiasm. And with all of his dedication, no surprise at all that he posted a PR.
Again, Life Is Amazing!! This World Offers So Much!! Take Time To Embrace It!! Take The Time To Respect It!! Write Down Your Passions!! Get Out And Live Them!! One Body, One Life, Free Your Mind!!
Cheers

Labor Day Family Time
Thursday: My Aunt arrived from Sac-Toe and found the OM House on the first try. Her rental car was an FJ Cruiser that we renamed FAST JANET or we referred to her as JF. She relaxed a bit until The Dude got home and off to the Farmers Market. I had my radio show so they swung by the station after they checked out the market. I walked the Boy Dog to the station and The Blue Z offered a ride to the OM House afterwards. We all hung out and updated our stories and filled in gaps on other stories. It was a warm night, fun catching up, and the evening flew on by.
Friday: The Dude took FJ to school with him to show her around the gardens, what he does, and where he makes it all happen. I shot down to the gym, did more yard work, and played with the Boy Dog during the Kitchen Sink. By 1pm that afternoon we were driving up towards the Grand Mesa. I happily pointed out points of interest which mainly my our memories really. FJ took photos when I pulled over or winded my way through a camp ground or two.
I was completely blown away by all the wild flowers still holding their colors. Loads of raspberry bushes lined the trail of Craigs Crest. We didn't work FJ over too much and we really slowed the pace down for her. We took little breaks and shared more stories. She was happy taking photos but was ready to turn back. So we did, good thing, started a lightly spit some rain and then started just dumping rain. More photos were taken.
The whole trip for the day was build around the fact that FJ wanted to catch a sunset from the Mesa. But the rain continued to fall. I took some side roads, got sideways in the mud, found some new KILLER campsites, ate few munches, and landed on the very western rim of the Grand Mesa for the setting of the sun. It was beautiful and ever so freeing to be there.
The rest of the drive home was spent laughing, reminiscing, and enjoying what each of us had to offer. We arrived back at the OM House were a crockpot was perfectly well timed. The Dude threw together some cornstarch and BAM we had a flavorful stew. Sweet way to end the day!!!
Saturday: Saturday morning started off a little early for me as I wanted to get the Boy Dog out before the GJ Style of Body Building competition started. The Dude swung by and picked me up, we waited in a line, and then we heard the other line was for tickets. The Dude went that way while I held our place in line. He comes back after a few short minutes and hands me my wrist band. As we are walking in he tells me that its $15 to get in. I sh^t and he laughed because he knew I wouldn't have paid and just walked home. AND IT WASNT WORTH THE MONEY BY ANY MEANS.
We went because we have two friends competing. One was in the Open Figure Model and the other was in the Novice Light Weight. They started with the men and the MEN WORE BOARD SHORTS. Not speedos but long board short. I said later it was because they ALL had skinny little legs. But we didn't get way they would wear long shorts and not show off the goods. Then, categories like 5"1' to 5"5' now, then 5"3' and up now, and over and over we saw the same group with maybe one new person. It was wired. Then, they did it all over again by age?!?!?! I ask The Dude if he would be pissed at me if I left. He made me stay and I am glad I did. We gave Sara and Lori hugs afterwards and they were both way stoked that we showed up. I told The Dude as we left that if I land one Ortho client out of it then it was worth $15 bucks. It really was lame, very weird, and well, just lame.
That night, an FJ want, hit the GJ Rockies Baseball Game. Its a Rookies League and its always fun to see familiar faces in the crowd. FJ was stoked and post tons of photos to her CrackBook Page. We continued to laugh about the BB Comp and the girls were all up in arms about the boys wearing board shorts. The Rockies won the game and we saw some smooth infield play and a couple of really off the mark pitches that drilled the backstop. All In All, Gr8 Day
Sunday: Sunday was awesome all the way around!!! We shot out of town and headed on down to Ouray to soak in the Hot Springs. Again, I pointed out various sights and land marks, made the trip in an easy 2 hours. Parked right away and paid our $12 for the day pass. We soaked, ate snacks, walked the main streets, and headed back for a soak. Total Colorado weather. Sun, then clouds, then rain, then clouds, then rain, then sun, then clouds, and thats a recipe for one incredibly gorgeous sunset!!! I felt so good afterwards. My shoulders didn't pop. My skin felt sexy smooth. Driving back was a breeze.
Monday: I could have slept in until noon but no. Shadow Boy woke me up with hunger pains, I had to wiz like a madman, and FJ was meeting us at Main Street Bagels before she hit the road. We all talked and thanked each other for the wonderful group effort. The rain started again, I rode the commuter bike, FJ drove off down the road, and another pretty damn sweet Labor Day Weekend was a wrap.
If any of this sounds like you might wanna see it……..
GOALS: I am going to be rather busy this week. Clients in the office, hitting the gym, setting up for the first cycle cross race of the season, trail workouts with the Boy Dog, and tackling OM House projects. So my goals are to be safe, think things through, ride strong, and enjoy waking up w/Shadow Boy on the bed while he was keeping me safe.
Been doing some serious lifting and really burning the legs with heavier weights. Bumped up weights during my shoulders routine as well. Thats cool. Felt strong in the chest and really controlled the dumbbells. Slowed down each rep and concentrated on contacting and holding for that one long second before starting another rep. I mixed in an arms and leg day to really challenge the cardiovascular system. I had hoped that the time would pick up by doing this but damn did I ever want to cut the workout short. I stayed, I preserved, and I enjoyed mixing it up.

Can It Really Be September? August Was Awesome!!
NEXT RADIO SHOW: Pretty excited about my upcoming show because my Aunt from SAC-UH-Tomatoes will be in town and in the studio. I pretty sure I leaning towards a 70's classic rock show with some Jeff Foxworthy stand up mixed in. So tune in if you would like on Thursday the 3rd from 5:30-9PM at www dot kafmradio dot org or HERE is their home page.
Pro Tour Challenge Colorado: The tour was a blast live and horribly covered via TV. I thankfully watched a few stages from the tour tracker site but still lame coverage. I shot out of here as the sun peaked out from the Debque Canyon. Heading east towards Aspen was creating a buzz in my mind and how I wanted and where should I and will I make it before the closures take place. Upon arrival, after creeping through Aspen, I was greeted by a less popular crowd than I had anticipated. Independence Pass is incredibly beautiful & last years crowd was in full force by this time. But this year the numbers were down & a Forest Service employee thought it had to due with them NOT allowing camping this year.
On to some highlights, many for sure, the road was closed off from the Leadville side and "club" riders tackled the pass all day. Tandem bikes, old folks, young kids on bikes that looked to big, and here comes one crazy awkward looking guy riding towards me. ITS FLIPPING BILL WALTON!! I hope you know who this legend is by now. I have had the pleasure of interacting w/Bill a number of times during my bellman days in SD,CA. Feel Free To Watch The Youtube Clip HERE.
The experience was epic to say the least. The fans were fantastic as always. And that first night I was lucky enough to stay at the Mayor of Red Cliff's house.
My slight downfall was that August was a huge month for me. I had been planing my Ortho work shop in Crested Butte and following the Pro Tour and keeping everything in perspective as NOT to add too much expectations towards the unknown and become disappointed because of my expectations of what I wanted to see come to full fruition. SO after the Pro Tour, the whole month blew my mind, I kinda went into a funk. Some sh*t went down with AT&T, my renter gave notice, my legs felt heavy, and I haven't shot a time lapse in awhile. In the big picture of things its really no big deal but its difficult riding those emotional waves sometimes.
Clients New: I have been setting goals and scored two more clients than I had set out to accomplish. Total Satisfaction. And they happily rescheduled for September sessions. Gotta Like That.
Spirals: Been experimenting with spirals during sessions and during my rides on the commuter bike towards the office or the gym. Funny, its always amazing how many " ah-ha " moments you can have while biking, swimming, walking, or rubbing down the Boy Dog. They are pretty fascinating when they happen. Example, you might want to see a spiral in 2D before reading this, during some point along my ride in the AM I send out a spiral with an intent of bringing in. Try it before you judge me. Another example was last Thursday while riding towards the famers market and after The Dude finished updating me on his world, I ran a spiral while we dodged car at various intersections, I was imagining sending out information and simple gratitude as a back up agenda.
So our local famers market is placed in the middle of Main Street covering 4 block which allows for a lot of space for bands, 20x20 e-zasy ups, horses, etc and I see a guy with a #BadAssWilson shirt on. I blurted out," How did you get that shirt already??" This guy we will call PB, first name and lives in Boulder,CO, replies that Justin was his business partner. Knowing what I know about Justin and Indy Car Racing I quizzed him a few more times. After explaining myself and shared stories and dropping important names, mainly from the Chevrolet world, he totally opened up and shared his turbulent world from the past few months. Turns out that he just rented a place here in GJ and is a mountain biker as well. I quickly slipped him a business card and pointed out my office there on Main St. So thats what I mean by running spirals. I ran a spiral, he wore a shirt, we crossed paths, another new client in the office. Thanx PB!!
Shadow Boy: Hard to believe that the Boy Dog is 10 years old. He still eats like a pup, jumps in the truck for a ride as if he was embarking on his last trip, and still sleeps with me after about the 3am hour. Love Ya Shadow Boy!!! Time is flying by and I swear I wasn't old enough to be saying phases like that. I am back in the gym 4 times a week, on the midnight racer twice a week, and working the skin off my fingers at the OM house. Before and after photos coming soon.
I encourage you to run your spirals, get out and about often, & seek your best possible outcome. As this blog is titled, WHAT ELSE IS POSSIBLE!?!?!?!

Cheers

Eye Opening
This past week was unbelievably amazing in every way shape and form. I left GJ early Tuesday morning, bought a box of #1 peaches and filled up w/fuel, & headed for Paonia Colorado. Met up with a Gr8 friend of mine from way back in the day for coffee and a breakfast burrito. And on towards Kebler Pass I drove. The dirt road was in pretty good shape but I still drove slow and waved cars/trucks on around me. Not much wildlife heading up to Lake Erwin but tons of wildflowers painted every open meadow.
Dropping down into CB I could feel my heart begin to race. Past memories flooded my mind!! I was so stoked to be in this gorgeous mountain town that I literally didn't know where to go.
s
So what does one do when one comes to the cross roads?? Thats easy, park, walk, and find a watering hole. And thats what I did. The walk through town was simply beautiful with a full spectrum of colored yards, happy dogs, and waving acknowledgment from bike riders. I walked into the Brick Oven Pizza Joint and sampled 3 different IPA's before ordering a Stone RuinTen IPA at $9 for 12oz glass!! I am on vacation so I took my time with that one. Just after a sip or two, mother nature showed up big time. The sky opened up and poured rain like you only see at 8,800ft. Elk Ave quickly turned into a river and the tourist from Texas all scurried around like ants. Classic.
Not long after all the excitement and my one tasty beer my buddy from Izzys called and away I went towards South CB. The rest of the night was spent on the deck ( time lapse views ) catching up, watching the meteor shower, and I do believe I won my first ever chess game!! Tooting my own horn here!!
What I Am About To Share Is Real, Raw, & True
I throw out this "disclaimer" because what I witnessed and experienced was totally out of my model of the world. I am not, maybe I should, be into crystals or energy or healing or labels like that.
First day of Ortho class was mostly talking theories and learning more about the legend Arthur Lincoln Paul. And on a side note, I swear in a good way, damn near everyone in the class had a twin from my circle of friends. Blew me away!! I won't bore you with details but wish I had taken some photos of these faces and shared them with their twin. Later that night was more of the same, watching meteors, playing chess, and shooting the sh*t on the deck.
Second day of class was totally eye opening. The three day work shop covered Phase 7 and working with the lymph glands and circulatory systems. Actually feeling fluids blew my mind as I have had difficulties with tracking. We worked with opening the vena cava and allowing oxygenated blood to flow through to the heart. I will never forget feeling the Aorta as I knew I was there. I could feel the tube like structure but not the fluids by any means. The gal I was working with, we connected, I could feel her connective tissue along her spine open up and a shift was coming into her pelvis and at about that time she said," My low back just dropped onto the table." I was on top of the world. My tracking in myself as practitioner or client is about on a 5 second delay normally. This time I was totally ahead of the curve and my whole mind set turned from that point on. Then, Ursula makes the statement that made so much sense to me, something to this effect, how can someone live and be active if they are drowning in their own fluids??? That statement rocked me!! From overweight lifestyles to gelatinous couch potatoes building up fluids, like a sidewalk gutter cluttered with debris that blocks everything upstream from flowing. Get this, we work from the heart as to keep from flooding the system. The gutter idea would play out like if you cleaned the gutter in the street from on top of the hill and worked your way down the hill. Pretty soon one of those "dams" would fail and a river wipes out the rest of the debris on down the hill and floods the drain and that drain becomes blocked from all the waste. Same with the body, we don't just flood the heart from working with fluids from the legs, we move from the heart towards the legs. That night, I slept like a rock!!!
Last day of the work shop was all lymph glands and I am lucky enough to live in the old saying of ignorance is bliss. Meaning, I didn't get caught up in interstitial fluids or over thinking patterns. I was able to sit, call up, and notice simple shifts in the system. Then, came my moment of the week. My mentor asked me to try this exercise on her. What a moment in time. I wasn't nervous, we were in right relationship, I ran a few spirals on her, I felt a blockage near her thoracic duct, worked and allowed it to open, SHE OPENED ONE EYE & LOOKED AT ME & CLOSED HER EYE, I ran another spiral, moved over her left groin lymph, and her whole body started lengthening out right there on the table. I looked over at L. Parker and she had a look on her face that I will never forget!!! We both watched this whole pattern develop before our eyes. My mentor was floored!! She complimented me on my timing, tracking, and felt that that session was totally life changing and went on to explain more of her past from child bearing. And I had a witness, not just me saying that Ortho-Bionomy works.
I was and still am on top of the world!!! And I am not saying that because I was in Crested Butte. This work shop was exactly what I needed and I had no idea what the work shop was all about before showing up.
Back in GJ Friday evening and a trail run with the Boy Dog. The sunset was spectacular, we ran with enthusiasm, & the body feels fantastic!! Bring On The Rest Of The Month & Seeking Out The Best Possible Outcome
Cheers
Total Inspiring Week
Bike Built For TWO Million:
I just can't even begin to recreate Jamie's speech from the other night. This story is unreal and inspiring for sure. Jamie rode a tandem bike for 6 straight years and touched so many lives. He broke through language and cultural barriers and blew my mind. His family continues to ask him about what he will do when he returns to the states. In my own words, he found a wife, so he will start a family when he returns. Some years later, 2015, he has two kids, same wife, and goals of giving back. His presentation was full of photos, classic tales from different countries, and a true raw emotional experiences.
The turn out was awesome!! Jamie mentioned that this was by far the best turn out during his book tour this summer, sponsored by KOA Camp Grounds. This photo is from one side of the Brown's Cycle Shop. There was another full room to the left were they served little munches to snack on. By 6pm this room was shoulder to shoulder and a fascinating Q&A afterwards. From meals to scary situations to favorite to stolen bikes. I am still so thankful that I went!! Will start reading this book in CB.
Tim Long: I saw that Tim threw out the idea that he may want to have a "crew" around while he tackles the BEAR 100 this September. So after a few e-mails, a sit down meeting, we agreed to travel together. Two different Worlds, Two different Thoughts, Two different Agendas, Two different Adventures, Two different Goals, & Two creating memories from stories to be shared at a later date. Needless to say…… I'm Phuc-n Stoked!!
Clients: Scored my first new client of the mont last Tuesday. I have known him for about 8 years now and he reached out. We booked an appointment as he still currently lives in Boulder,Co. He way dug the Ortho releases throughout his elbow, Ulna, and Radius. He does carpentry for a living so his forearms were as tight as you could imagine. Ortho is so sweet in that you don't have to dig and bruise someone in oder to have some relief down the road.
Another client came in and told me that she feels great and doesn't have any goals for this session. So love that to hear. We did a pelvis balance and went on to some organ communications. Something was let go and showed up in her nick. Well, C2 really. We performed a very simple shoulder release and then held her head in a preferred position until her own nervous system reeducated itself. She smiled, exchanged some energy, and happily walked on down the hall.
Crested Butte Colorado: I know I have talked this to death but I am almost out of my skin about this upcoming Ortho workshop in CB. Its not hard at all to believe that its just around the corner. Almost all of my clients this past week have lit up as they relive their perspective regarding the wildflowers up there. And thats just a small slice of the pie for whats to come. Cant wait to see the other Ortho folks, staying with an incredible family, & the meteor shower will be just ramping up. And I will say it again, 2015 was been totally epic!
Best Dog Ever: Its Still The Boy Dogs Birthday Month
Legs felt really good at this point. I didn't care about time, pace, cadence, or volume. I went with the Boy Dog vision of being in the moment and having the best day ever!! Each step was approached by how I felt and where it lead me. Meaning….. When the Boy Dog went up a hill, some moments caused me to power hike the hell out of it. Some of my foot strikes almost pushed me toward one side of the trail or divot in the road and I just relaxed into. The Boy Dog ran like every sound was created by Bugs Bunny. Zig & Zag & Back & Forth. We both had our different observations but were happy as can be on common ground.
MAD Racing: MAD Racing is so on this Fall!!! 6 cycle cross races and 4 timed 5K running/trail races. Including a 5K on the airstrip out at Walker Field November 14th 2015. How cool is that??? Running a 5K on the runway with potential of hosting a cycle cross race next year. Apparently the airport has a back taste in their mouth from two years ago and passed on the opportunity to host this event last year. So I have really hammered it home to Klishy that we really want to go above The Call Of Duty for this one. Like bring a ton of enthusiasm, professionalism, and empower the guest. Not Runs but treat them like GUEST!! I know I get a little worked up over these events and over think them a bit but damn this will be huge exposure of what we are trying to accomplish. Hell, backing up our mission statement.
