The closing of the games brings authentic reflections of all of it and even my own goo. A full spectrum of where we stand , was I the better human this month , did we grow closer to one another , did I accomplish what I could ?? The Olympic Games not only brings out the "best" athletes but was founded on principles of friendship , solidarity , and fair play. I completely fell in love with the two new Olympic Sports !! Did you see the new 4 team Luge event ?? That event incorporates men AND women racing the clock. The ladies single luge starts the clock , when she finished she reaches up and slaps that target to release that horse like racing starting gate , men's double luge begins , then the single male luge , and finally the women's double to finish all four teams vs the running clock. Sensational
The other event was the ski mountaineering event. Holy Smokes does this ever offer up potential. Those indefatigable athletes blew my mind. Could you just imagine what else is possible up in those French Alps ?? Let's Build It
Yes , I watched the dancing figure skating pairs. Still haven't watched a full curling event as I just haven't invested the time to fully comprehend the sport. Yes , fully embraced the speed skating during both long and short track. Yes , all of the ski jumping boggles my mind. And yes , I wish I was given the opportunity to compete in the Skeleton as a 19 year old. As a little tike , I couldn't get enough sledding in the winter. The Dude & I were always the last two kids out and about sledding. As adults in the late unadvised and influenced by Makers Mark , we have sled in Silverton , Crested Butte , and Portola. There is something very exciting about sledding down an icy street after midnight. Boys Will Be Boys
The entire Games captivated my attention and I am so thrilled about attending the upcoming Small-A Games in 2028 and the Salt Lake City Games in 2034. Both of these cities will be my second games to attend. I was there for the 1984 Smell-A games and 2002 in SLC. If I recall correctly , will be my 6th Olympic torch sighting. 1984 , 1996 , 2002 , 2010 , and soon to be 2028 and 2034. Our featured events to attend in the winter are the cross country events , relays , and biathlon competitions. Water polo and the free events , like the marathon and cycling , are the sought after tickets during the Summer Games. Keep in mind , I was fortunate enough to attend multiple events in 2006 during the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne Australia. That was just as magical as the Olympic Games. Truly Magical
I will boldly state this and stand behind my word. I WILL NEVER WATCH SUBSCRIBE OR SUPPORT MEN's HOCKEY EVER AGAIN. I was a fan of The Las Vegas Knights and held an allegiance with The Colorado Avalanche. But no more. I was 100% caught up in the Olympic hockey hype for sure. I caught a number of the women's games and started following along during the men's play. Claiming the gold for the women's team was astonishing and I was so pleased for them and their efforts. That men's match was unreal and the men played so bad during that second period. I even began to lose hope as we neared overtime. The overtime created such anxiety for me and when they prevailed , beyond stoked. But the way they conducted themselves in the locker room with that Phuc Head Kash and their live unedited response to The Donald on the phone , Phuc Um. Disrespectful doesn't even begin cover it. The Phuc-N World Cup , fully boycotted by the rest of the world , is on the horizon. An opportunity to encompass all , like the Olympic Games were intended , our racists government showed their hand. I ceremoniously became emotional during that closing spectacle of this years winter games. I believe Italy conducted themselves in the ideal manner. I loved the theater aspect from the host country. Those costumes were so elegant during the opening AND closing ceremony. Monitoring the parade of athletes brought my heart joy while they filled that Vernoa Arena. That arena BTW dates back to 30 AD. Could you just imagine standing as one inside that World Heritage site ?? Every athlete and volunteer was on the same page with the same common interest , The Closing Of The Games !! Extinguishing the flames worked over to my core and Italy would be the first ever country to host TWO Olympic flame sights. The way that the French brought the high energy vibes was infectious. The newest technology should be over the top here in a short four years from now. Winter Game 2030
RETIREMENT:
Recently , after attending two separate retirement parties , my standard question was this. If the person whom I was speaking with currently is still employed ," Outside of work , what are your hobbies?" If the person is retired , " Retirement must be nice. What are your go to hobbies these days?" Crickets
Just found it odd that these same folks could recall the scheduled programming on CBS at 8pm but a straightforward quality of life question eludes them. I am not pleased with myself having to work 7 part-time jobs as I near 60 years old but I sure as Phuc have zero interest in living like a gelatinous blob on the couch regurgitating to someone what I just saw on the idiot box while implying that is my own thought. Whenever I am asked that dream question "What Would You Do If You Won The Lottery?" I have simply replied with this response. I would purchase a number of tasteful clown costumes , a vehicle that makes since for the trip , and I would drive all over the country visiting Children's Hospitals and share with them a little joy. Read stories , meet them in their model of the world , and possibly offer them a little encouragement if appropriate. I wouldn't buy a big A$$ house , I wouldn't buy some fancy yellow sports car , I would never buy a new entertainment center , and I wouldn't tell a soul that I won. Well , that's not true , I would tell T & A in San Diego because they are dear to me. True Friendship

P.S. Just a quick clarification here as I am still unable to reply to comments. A number of you dropped a polite and much appreciated comment regarding the piano action. Thank You. However , I can not play the piano yet. I am flirting with the major chords and have trained my hands to play the C Major , G Major , A Major , and D Major chords. This is only accomplished with one hand at a time. I am struggling with the coordination using both hands , learning how from YT Videos helps tremendously , and hopefully someday I will be able to play along to some basic songs. So thank you all for the congratulations and encouragement but I wanted to take a second and explain where it is that I am with this new instrument.
