SHADOW PUPPETS:
Loaded up the faithful BoB Trailer with tools, drills, and miscellaneous screws and hinges. Attached the trailer to the old 1994 GT and onward towards the meandering Bike Path I rode. A perfect afternoon for a bike ride under a canopy of full lush shade trees nearing Connected Lakes.
The Dude had plywood from a previous deliveries and visions of a Theater booth. All the random power tools came alive and saw dust was quickly made.
Little did we know, this would become a communal project. Everyone in their own little way stepped up and pitched in. Kalindeeeeeeeeeer's boyfriend held the window frame while relaxing in his camp chair and carefully NOT spilling his beverage. He even came through by loaning us his jigsaw and later on added much needed guidance to the final frame design. Good Guy He Is
And before you know it, Success
Here is a photo from inside the both. All recycled wood, BLK construction paper, wooden BBQ skewers, Elmers Glue, colored sharpies, leftover paint, and Willy Wonka's Pure Imagination and you to can have your very own shadow puppet booth.
These two characters have mobile arms with an attached string to the lower jaws for voice over movements. So dig that beer gut!! But the pointer finger makes the story believable.
A happy dancing bull, one of the three little pigs, a brown bear, fairies, a whale, starfish, and butterflies became the main players of the evening performance.
With an audience in the garage, the amount of laughter carried merit. Our skits were very elementary but well received. The brown bear checking out the mushrooms and then dancing off with the two fairies was the highlight for sure. That is only judge by the roaring giggles and applause from the supportive family members and neighbors alike.
WORK:
Headed to the high country last weekend to put in a bid on a staircase. Just a basic staircase with two stringers, four post, two post on concrete blocks and two on a smaller concrete poured slab, and a subtle hand railing.
Should be an "easy" two day job and figuring the math on the riser cuts shouldn't be difficult once the permeant location is established.
After that meeting, went for a quick skinny dip. But not so fast!! The river was exceedingly ice cold. Winter run off is in full effect and although mesmerizing crystal clear running water, so inviting, the frigid swift current inflicted pain to my precious baby toes. Like Numbing
With the cloud cover, I stood there ankle deep and naked as a jay bird, unable to move towards the deeper waters, a second guess quickly entered my mind. Not Today Buck-A-Roo
ORTHO:
Work in the office has been delightful. Some of the clients are simply amazing and our bodies are so intelligent.
A post car accident client came in and we worked with their scalene muscles first. Now, Obviously I started with their feet, hips, etc before addressing their neck.
The scalene muscle groups are stabilizing muscles rather than muscle movers. These scalene muscles tend to lengthen during whiplash movements and become painful ether in the origin of the muscle to bone or tiny little tears in the belly of the muscles. Cellular Service Neck
Yes, another Long Exposure Photo. What I found out, the Loop or Long Exposure shots crop the photo. Check out the above long exposure and then above that, The Original???? See how the peak is missing now???
Anyway, I held their occiput ridge while cupping their neck for full control and comfort. I waited for their neck to unwind and "roll" towards the right-side. Once they settled in that position, with my thumb near the top of their head, added a very little pressure with my thumb.
As if I was compressing their skull ( onto their cervical vertebrae ) with very very little pressure. Almost unnoticeable but with some intention. And Waited
The brain automatically sends a single to the functional unit of the neck to UN-compress itself and line up normally. This movement starts with their chin falling deeper into the original position, then the chin rolls up towards the crown of their head, and then the shoulders wiggly as in anticipation of the new alinement of their neck and skull placement/relationship.
Now!!! I am NOT a chiropractor. Understand?? Not a bone cracking doctor. A chiropractor will crack your neck back into place and there is a definite need for this action/force of application. For me in the Ortho world, I am allowing the structural skeletal system to adjust by recognition and heal from within.
By doing this, in my model of the world, the body holds this comfort AFTER its been released of trauma, congestion, etc. Plus, the byproduct of the work, clavicle finds its home, upper ribs are happy, and all those tiny little nerves supplying impulses to organ are running at maximum efficiency. Proprioceptors are restored and oxygenated blood flow carries those impurities to the kidneys for flushing out. Body Work Baby
LAWNCARE:
Yup, still walking behind the noise maker and spinning the twine of the weed eater for edging plots of lawn. Found a pretty sweet rhythm of juggling my schedule lately. Able to work all three jobs and schedule clients around those obligations in place.
One of my many favorites of Spring Time. I just absolutely love new growth from ever green trees. This particular Ponderosa Pine is sprouting new needles. Is sprouting the right word??? And the new growth is so soft and playful. Cant help myself by playing, rubbing, and feeling/rolling them between my girly soft hands.
MAINTENCE:
Still rocking the gym job and having a blast. The Silver Sneakers enjoy sharing tales from their youth with me. Their old folk jokes are a hoot!! Imagine if you will, 93 or maybe 97 year old guy telling this joke with his grey shorts pulled up to his nips and his white socks all the way up to his knees. Keep in mind, the way that an elderly person takes their time when speaking, reading their face as the punch line is difficult to deliver at that age. I am ALWAYS a good sport because all they want is to be heard and to come off as a funny jovial human. What Did The Angry Cake Say????
You Wanna Piece Of Me!!! Classic
I was cleaning the pool the other night and was treated to this magical setting sun. No rain fell from the atmosphere but one hell of a rainbow peaked out from up above.
I am educating myself about electricity and my confidence is elevating. Hot wires have never really been my thing and over head light ballast have intimidated for good reason.
But now, securing the HOT wire with a wire nut, remaining present, asking myself if this is the proper next step, thinking it through, and making the switch to the next step, pretty rewarding when the fixture sparks back to life without a short out PoP. Mission Accomplished
But in the office practicing Ortho is my calling. It's where I am comfortable. When I am in the office, working with the body, I am alive. There is no where else that I want to work. Witnessing someone leaving their imbalances on the table and gracefully walking again is beyond words. True Bliss
RADIO SHOW:
Not paid work but my last radio show was a blast. I throughly enjoyed myself and felt as if it just might be one of my top 10 all-time shows. Offered up some trivia questions, very diverse range of songs and cover tunes, and was lucky enough to NOT push the OPEN button instead of the play button. Then, a dear friend promoted the show as text messages from long ago friends poured in after they were informed of my live show. Hearing from these individuals was so uplifting and engaging on air with them was such a joy to my heart.
You can stream the show HERE for about another week. The link reads Dan Yankee Magic Carpet RIBE. How or Why Dan typed RIBE is a mystery but it works. The link will begin with two ads, about three seconds of dead air, and then Wide Spread Panic covering WAR's Slippin' Into Darkness live from Tennessee 2014. Check it out and let me know how many answers to the Trivia Questions you were able to pull out of the elusive rabbit's hat.
Here is a quick two minute time lapse video of mine. My thought was to stroll through the trees and transition from the iPhone to the GoPro. In my third eye, it was spectacular. This HD video, just Ok.
Be Thankful, Smile A Lot, And Express With Pleasant Words,
Great work with the puppet theatre and it's great that people enjoyed non electronic amusements. Still winter run off. I suppose you felt a little inadequate after your skinny dip. Are you a physiotherapist? You sound better than mine. Sometimes I think a kind of a rabbit chop to my neck would fix it. I hope you know what a rabbit chop is. Ah yes, I forgot, an ortho. I laughed at your remark about Dan using inappropriate capitals. Lovely scenery photos as usual.

Hello, You do sounds very busy, the puppet booth will be lots of fun. I love all the gorgeous scenery, wild Columbine, the beautiful landscapes and skies. The time lapse was going too fast for me, made me dizzy lol. Take care, enjoy your day!

Isn't it great to be back in the office with patients? I really missed it last winter when things were so slow. It feels so good to be working with kids again and talking with their parents. I could use some help with my wrist--I haven't talked much about it on my blog but there is some weird tendon thing going on. Bothers me when I'm pushing with the hand or flexing the wrist. Not when i'm waterskiing, lol. I kept hoping it would resolve on its own but on Monday, there was a snapping sensation and searing pain. So off i go to the hand specialist today. I already know what he's going to say...NSAIDS, maybe a steroid injection, and an MRI...ugh

Brother Padre that Shadow Puppet is super nice! I really did look at the progress photos slowly and when I saw the puppets I was super happy! Thank you for sharing these and all the other beautiful shots of nature!
PS Thank you so much for checking on on me and so sorry for my very late reply. I got caught up with a huge new process at work in the past months and on going so I haven't been blogging for quite some time but I am doing okay. i really need to lose some weight though because I have been so inactive in the past months so I have to exert extra effort because I am starting to have a hard time moving :(
I bet that it was ice cold! We have a creek near our house that is raging right now and the water is freezing. But our friends skinny dipped in it today. Whew - that's not for me!
